Society for Community Organisation and Peoples
Education (SCOPE) a non-profit, non-Government Organisation
registered under the Public Trust Act on February 7, 1986, works
for the integrated socio-economic and human development of disadvantaged
and under-privileged communities in interior micro villages
of Musiri Block in Tiruchirappalli District and Perambalur Block
of Perambalur District of Tamil Nadu.
Aiming at holistic development an integrated
approach is adopted by SCOPE. People’s participation and
involvement are always enlisted. Opportunities are provided,
for the people, particularly women, in leadership, decision
making and self-reliance. Most of the responsibilities related
to various programmes right from identification of needs/problem,
analysis, prioritization, planning, execution of evaluation
are vested with them. Maximum opportunities are provided to
women, the economically deprived, exploited, harassed, sexually
abused and tormented half of the human race, who need more support
to assert themselves and achieve equality.
